Phtoshop extract filter

This tutorials is for those like me who find it difficult to extract a part of the image using all sort of tools like the select one, lasso and wat not but still cant figure out what to do.. Well for all those, theres a small lovely tutorial below

1)Select the image and open in photoshop
2)Select the filter>extract option from the top menu
3)Select the area in the image using the highlighter tool in the extract dialogue box that opens.
4)After tat select the paint bucket tool and fill the area with the blue color, there might be a case when the whole image turns blue that would be becuase there would have remained a small hole which allowed the color to flow out. Look carefully to plug that hole
5) After that click on the done button.
6)Once this is done then use the art history tool brush to paint back whatever areas had been missed and use the eraser tool to erase the areas that were extra in the image to get a perfect picture.
7)To see for any deformities jst select the image and put a background color to see teh flaws and the tiny bits and pieces of transparent things that have been left in the image due to the editing procedure. Once done move forward and enjoy the image.

A stroy by our very own SHARMAJI

SHARMAJI SE PUCHON...

The story is called the "Footsteps..."

A person goes after death to heaven.
God: "How was your life on earth dude"?.
Guy (shocked): My life was not good as i always felt that there was no body to care for me, nobody to look after me and god was never there with me when i needed him the most.
God: This cant be, i was always there with you.
Guy: Not possible, you were always there with the rich, you helped them, bestowed them with all the gifts, showered love over them and you did not give anything to us.
God: Ok, son let us go for a walk and see the footsteps of your life from the beginning of you journey.
(So they see to see the footsteps of that person. In the beginning from where they start there are two footsteps one of the god and other one of the person. )
God: look son i was there with you.
Guy: It was just the beginning of my life and i had no problems hence you were with me.
God: Ok son in that case let us move forward and see what happens.
(They move forward and reached a place where there was only one footstep)
Guy: see this was the time i was talking about i had nobody near me to support me
God: Oh is that so, so why dont you put your foot in the footprint.
(The guy does as instructed by the god only to discover that those dont fit in. he is shocked)
God:Son allow me to put my foot in this footprint
(The guy removes his and to his amaze the god's foot fit in)
God: See son you did not even have the courage to move forward at this point of time. It was i who picked you up and pushed you. God is always there with you.

"Sometimes you run just too fast and you dont realise that there are many people to support you"

The story of a professor

The two stories about life, this story is about a professor who once wrote a very famous article and he wanted to present this article at the various universities around the US. The university where he mentored provided the professor with a chauffeurs driven car to take him to various places around the US to present his article. The chauffeur had no other work so he would go inside the conferences and listen to what the professor had to say. He went around with the professors to a lot of places around the US. One day the professor asked him "how do you like my lectures". The chauffeur asks "Sir, do you want to know what i really feel". The professor said "sure, go ahead". SO the chauffeur explains the professor "what you speak is just a repetition of what you said in the first lecture, its so easy to deliver the lecture. after attending so many of your lectures even i can give a lecture now." So the professor says okay "next time when we go in for a conference you be the professor and i will be the chauffeur" The chauffeur agrees to this proposition.

In the next presentation they interchanged their roles and the chauffeur repeated what the professor had said in every presentation. The presentation went good and even better than the professor. Everybody applauded his skills and the theory he proposed. Then it was the question answer session where in a professor asked him a question. This guy was flustered but maintained his cool and replied "What a silly question, even my chauffeur sitting in the end can answer this question". So the professors comes in and explains the concept. :)

This story was given by a visiting prof in response to the following
"There were four groups in the class and each had to give a presentation on a case study. Each group came and presented, when the last group was to present, teh group leader said that everyone has covered the points so we have nothing to say". To this the professor replied the above story

Can somone help you choose a career path?

Nobody under the sun can tell you how to choose a great career path for yourself? People have been through different situations in their lives which made them to do things differntly and choose different career paths. The only thing that one must keep in mind while deciding must be

"Not to go in for the amount of money offered"

It is always better to join an learning organization. An organization where in individual knowledge translates into organizational knowledge. To illustrate i would give the example of Information management group at IIT Roorkee. The group manages the website and the Intranet resources of the institute and has been serving the needs of IIT Roorkee for a long duration of time. The group believes in teh philosophy of a learning organization where in problems faced by someone is genrally told to the entire group or a mail is posted asking whether someone has already been through that problem. This helps in cutting down the time required to grasp things and gives you an edge over other organizations which keep on spending time in reinventing the wheel.

The another important point is "ENJOY WHAT YOU DO" Don't sacrifice a lot of things just for achieving something like your family, relations and more importantly your life.

I generally see people getting stressed out if they are not placed on the first day of the placement season. This whole process of placement can be viewed in two perspectives

1) It is a "swayamwara" where in a large number of Prince and princess come together to select each other. It is matching process. If the prince finds the right princess the fate is sealed otherwise the princess waits for some other prince till she finds one. The only difference being selection and marriage is guaranteed.

2) It is like a brothel where in the students considered as prostitutes for the purpose of discussion get ready every morning to find new customers waiting for them. Every lady of the night is shown to the customer, the customer selects and chooses the one he feels is best to satisfy his carnal desires. Once the match is found the final deal is sealed with a one to one interaction between the two parties. The level of satisfaction derived by both parties depends on the interaction that has taken place.

So if the procedure itself is like a prostitute selection one the pain should be less. :)

"Better to enjoy than crib about such things in life"

7 Habits of an eagle

Question: Can you find the common relationship between all the pictures?
Answer: Well all of them have an eagle.
Wasn't that too obvious... well if that would have been the correct answer. The correct answer lies in people these symbols represented. The first logo belonged to Napolean, the second to Julias Ceasar, the third to Hitler, and the last is too obvious to be mentioned.

So why did these people choose eagle to represent themselves out of all the animals in the animal kingdom. Why such unfair treatment of all the others. The answer lies in the fact that eagle is treated as a symbol of leadership. All these people represented the epitomes of power and leadership.

If you look at an eagle from a business perspective you can learn a quite a lot. And it actually forces you to think that Eagles can do the amazing feats cant we as humans strive to achieve those. Research on Eagles brings to light the following points

  • Eagles fly alone at high altitudes
  • Eagles have strong vision
  • Eagles hunt.
  • Eagles love storm
  • Eagles test before they trust
  • Eagles are good mentors
  • Old eagles pluck out their own feathers
Well, wondering, how these weird looking propositions fit into a business environment. If we look at them closely we find a good degree of correlation between the two. Let us go point by point and try figuring out the correlation.

  • Eagles fly at high altitudes and they fly alone. It is similar to a business situation which calls for setting high standards even if there is no one near to those standards.

  • Eagles generally spot their preys from a very large distance (5kms). They keep themselves focused irrespective of whatever may come in between. Be it an aero plane, a bomb blast or a forest fire. Once the eyes are set on the prey, the probability of the prey being left is very less. Similarly focus on the business and having a clear vision as to what we want to do is a necessary mantra for success.

  • Eagles never eat dead food, they don't know whether or not they will get the next meal in case they leave the dead animal, they take a risk, a huge risk. But in the end they are way ahead of the vultures who survive on the dead. They get quality food and have good standards for themselves.

  • An eagle ventures into a storm and the strong air currents take the bird to soar higher and higher to highest levels of the atmosphere. Basically a wonderful experience at no cost. A crisis in ones life must also be like the storm that takes the eagle to the next level. They must act like the crucibles of leadership.

  • The female eagle before mating with the male actually tests the male. The female picks a thorn from a shrub and flies above, holding it in its beak. As soon as it reaches around 5km above from the surface of the earth, it drops the thorn. The male who is supposed to follow the female in order to keep track of the dropping point of the thorn, now has the task of catching the falling thorn before it touches the ground. Once he does so successfully he is tested again and again with the thorn being dropped from higher altitudes. If successful, the female allows for the mating. So we must not blame someone else when we are ditched by them. It is our mistake that we did not test them properly before trusting them.

  • A close look at the nest of the eagle reveals that the nest is made up of 7 layers.
    • 1st layer -----Twigs
    • 2nd layer----- thorns
    • 3rd layer----- Rags
    • 4th layer-----Dry Leaves
    • 5th layer-----Twigs
    • 6th layer-----Thorns
    • 7th layer-----Cotton

The division of responsibility is quite clear after the mating is over. The male has the responsibility of arranging for food to feed the female eagle and the eaglets. Once the children are mature enough and develop wings, the female eagle pushes the children off the cliff in order to teach them how to fly. The child is very afraid and screams and shouts, makes all types of noises possible under the sun. But to no avail. He tries to get back to the nest but the parents are clever still, they remove the cotton layer of the nest. Now the nest has only thorns. So the eaglet now has to choose between the devil and the deep sea. He finds it better to jump rather than getting back in the nest and making himself bleed. The eaglet just keeps on falling down and down and just before the point when he is about to touch the ground the father actually catches the falling eaglet on its back and takes it atop. An eaglet on an average learns to fly in 2 hours. The way people are mentored makes a lot of difference in their lives
  • Old eagles pluck their own feathers, remain without eating and after some time they grow new feathers, some of those old eagles who have the power to fly go again and grace the sky but others die a graceful death. The lesson to be learned here is there are some of our habits that need this plucking exercise. Sooner the better ....
