"Not to go in for the amount of money offered"
It is always better to join an learning organization. An organization where in individual knowledge translates into organizational knowledge. To illustrate i would give the example of Information management group at IIT Roorkee. The group manages the website and the Intranet resources of the institute and has been serving the needs of IIT Roorkee for a long duration of time. The group believes in teh philosophy of a learning organization where in problems faced by someone is genrally told to the entire group or a mail is posted asking whether someone has already been through that problem. This helps in cutting down the time required to grasp things and gives you an edge over other organizations which keep on spending time in reinventing the wheel.
The another important point is "ENJOY WHAT YOU DO" Don't sacrifice a lot of things just for achieving something like your family, relations and more importantly your life.
I generally see people getting stressed out if they are not placed on the first day of the placement season. This whole process of placement can be viewed in two perspectives
1) It is a "swayamwara" where in a large number of Prince and princess come together to select each other. It is matching process. If the prince finds the right princess the fate is sealed otherwise the princess waits for some other prince till she finds one. The only difference being selection and marriage is guaranteed.
2) It is like a brothel where in the students considered as prostitutes for the purpose of discussion get ready every morning to find new customers waiting for them. Every lady of the night is shown to the customer, the customer selects and chooses the one he feels is best to satisfy his carnal desires. Once the match is found the final deal is sealed with a one to one interaction between the two parties. The level of satisfaction derived by both parties depends on the interaction that has taken place.
So if the procedure itself is like a prostitute selection one the pain should be less. :)
"Better to enjoy than crib about such things in life"
